The Elementary Principal's Organization (EPO) is your organization.  It represents elementary schools and elementary school administrators in the Los Angeles Unified School District as "an arm of the Superintendent".  We provide Professional Development for the members of our organization at Citywide meetings four times a year.  Any principal with ideas to improve elementary schools the services schools receive, or issues which need resolution, should contact their local District representative.  You can call them or send them an email.  Check the links under Executive Board for your area representative.

Dues for returning principals is $20.  New, first year principals, do not have to pay dues.  It is our Congratulatory Welcome to you!  Dues go towards your professional development.

The Executive Board

Monthly executive board meetings are held during which representatives are able to discuss issues with leaders from various offices such as the Maintenance and Operations, Staff Relations, or Budget Services & Financial Planning.  Representatives bring issues from their Local District. Issues are either sent to the appropriate committee to be discussed with district personnel who can affect change or sometimes position statements are drafted when issues of general concern remain unresolved.

EPO has also taken a leading position in professional development for elementary principals. The board and members plan professional development for regional and citywide meetings designed to update and improve our leadership and instructional skills and knowledge.

Each month the secretary takes minutes of the meetings which include the latest district updates and critical discussion relating to issues brought to the table by elected representatives from the local districts. All representatives have the minutes, which are Board documents and considered working drafts, this year in order to keep you better informed, we will be posting copies of the most recent Executive Board Meeting Agenda on this website for your convenience.
