Introduction

The EPO is your professional organization that serves as a strong advocate and voice for all LAUSD elementary principals.  Your support through paying dues and attending meetings is vital to our remaining a critical organization that advocates on your behalf and provides professional development opportunities relevant to current initiatives.

Your annual dues of $20 are used for a variety of purposes.  Specifically, honoraria for guest speakers, EPO hospitality, purchase of professional literature and books for members and operating costs such as photocopying and supplies for meetings.  In addition, your dues allow us to provide membership appreciation gifts and an end of the year luncheon for all elementary principals.

You may submit payment of dues (cash or check) during each citywide meeting to Laura Bazan, EPO Treasurer or mail to:

Victoria Avenue Elementary School

3320 Missouri Avenue

South Gate, CA 90280

We sincerely appreciate your support of our organization!

The Executive Board

Monthly executive board meetings are held during which representatives are able to discuss issues with leaders from various offices such as the Maintenance and Operations, Staff Relations, or Budget Services & Financial Planning.  Representatives bring issues from their Local District. Issues are either sent to the appropriate committee to be discussed with district personnel who can affect change or sometimes position statements are drafted when issues of general concern remain unresolved.

EPO has also taken a leading position in professional development for elementary principals. The board and members plan professional development for regional and citywide meetings designed to update and improve our leadership and instructional skills and knowledge.

Each month the secretary takes minutes of the meetings which include the latest district updates and critical discussion relating to issues brought to the table by elected representatives from the local districts. All representatives have the minutes, which are Board documents and considered working drafts, this year in order to keep you better informed, we will be posting copies of the most recent Executive Board Meeting Agenda on this website for your convenience.
